Modular Data Acquisition

Imaging Method

taktile-sensorsysteme-messwerterfassung Tactile sensing systems from Weiss Robotics are particularly suitable for applications where it is important to acquire a pressure distribution. Due to their high sensitivity, the very good dynamics and the possibility of customization, they are suitable for a variety of applications.
Below, we give you a short outline of our sensing technology.

Resistive Pressure Sensing

Weiss Robotics Tactile Transducers use a patented measurement principle with a high spatial resolution. An elaborated resistive measuring method based on modern polymer technology realizes a homogeneous sensing area with an outstanding pressure sensitivity. The patented single-side contacting of the sensing polymers assures a high life time of our transducers.

Active Sensing Matrix

The transducers are realized using an actively sampled sensing matrix. This means that every sensor cell has its own measurement channel to acquire the applied load. Compared to competitive systems, our transducers have a much higher definition between neighbored sensor cells, thus giving you a higher contrast of the acquired pressure profile. In addition, a much higher sampling speed is achieved, so that even highly dynamic processes can be detected with great accuracy. Cross sensitivity, as known from other systems cannot occur with this technology.

Integrated Signal Conditioning

taktile sensorsysteme messwandler All tactile transducers from Weiss Robotics have an integrated signal conditioning electronics, which assures an excellent measurement signal and a high noise immunity. This makes our tactile transducers extremely versatile and gives them an exceptional performance.
To achieve a high degree of miniaturization of our transrucers, we always use most modern manufacturing processes and components.

Robust Construction

Weiss Robotics Tactile Transducers are very robust and largely insensitive to shock loads and vibration. For particularly demanding applications, the transducer can be designed to be even waterproof, which is a protection to IP65 or better. In addition, the properties of the sensor area cover can be adapted to the application in a wide range to ensure an optimal fit to your application.

Planar or curved designs possible

Weiss Robotics Tactile Transducers are available as planar modules as well as in a curved design, which makes them suitable for a variety of applications where pressure profiles must be recorded on flat or curved surfaces.

Planar Transducers

taktile sensorsysteme planar Planar transducers have a high spatial resolution with good reproducibility of the acquired pressure profils. The required signal processing is directly integrated directly onto the back side of the sensing area by using the latest manufacturing methods, resulting in an extremely compact design combined with a high noise immunity.

Curved Transducers

taktile sensorsysteme flexibel If the acquisition of a pressure profile on a a curved surface is required, we can realize our Tactile Transducers based on one-dimensional curved substrates, which in turn can be matched directly to the mechanical supporting structure of the customer's application. For the realization of the Tactile Transducer, we work close together with our clients to achive an optimum solution for their requirements.
